Pr. Vincent Dupriez

Vincent Dupriez is Professor of Education at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) and senior researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Group in Socialisation, Education and Training (GIRSEF). Vincent Dupriez has developed research in the areas of education policy, educational inequalities, school administration and comparative education. Currently his main research concerns the teacher profession and educational policies’ design and implementation.


Pr. Eric Mangez

Eric Mangez is Professor of sociology at the University of Louvain-La-Neuve, and a former visiting researcher at the University of Edinburgh. He is the former co-director of an FP6 integrated project funded by the European Commission, investigating the role of knowledge in the European Governance of Education. He is currently coordinating a collaborative research project titled “Living Together in an uncertain world. What role for the School?”. As lead editor of the European Educational Research Journal, he developed a particular interest in the Europeanization / globalization of education and education policy. His current work focuses on the sociology of Niklas Luhmann and its relevance for the field of education and education policies in a global context. His earlier work dealt in particular with the sociology of the curriculum, education policies and family-school relations. He is the co-author of Bourdieu’s Theory of Social Fields (Sage) and co-editor of the 2014 World Yearbook of Education. He is a founding member of the European network “Sociologies of Education” in the European Educational Research Association.
